2014: Year In Review

I don't know about all of you, but New Year's Eve sure snuck up on us this time! When I first set out to create our 2014 year in review I thought to myself "man, this year was boring!" But after brainstorming with Adam, we were able to come up with quite a few things to throw in.

I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding...

Adam came in first place in a golf outing....

and Lucy attended her first baseball game, Bark in the Park Night at Dow Diamond.

We ran our first 10K together after training for what felt like forever...

And went to a home football game cheering on our Central Michigan Chippewas!

We finally got to ride a tandem bicycle around Mackinaw Island, something I've wanted to do for years...

And we spent Labor Day walking the Mackinaw Bridge!

To say this year was boring would be a lie. While we may not have had any big life changing events in 2014, we have done some pretty awesome things. It's been a year full of wonderful memories, and I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring (let's hope it involves me finally graduating)!!

Happy New Year from our family to yours!

Scenes From Our Christmas Celebration

Once again, Christmas has come and gone in the blink of an eye. It was a very low key one for us this year, since Adam's work schedule made it almost impossible for us to travel. I can't really complain though, because we've always wanted to just stay home anyways.

Since we opted out of traveling, we spent the holidays with my family. When Adam got out of work on Christmas Eve, we headed to church and then back to our house for dinner. My parents, brother, and sister joined us. We all drank too many Grinch drinks and played Qwirkle til late.

Although there are no kids in the family yet (everyone is waiting on me), my 23 year old sister still manages to wake us all up early Christmas morning for 7:30am gift opening. This year, we opened gifts at my parent's house, and since we slept at our own house, we got a 7am wake up call with Christmas music blaring into the phone. The rule is that everyone still must arrive in their pajamas. We arrived shortly after 7:30 for gift opening and a delicious Christmas brunch. We returned home to nap and get read for the day before heading back to my parent's for dinner. Once it got late, we went driving around looking at Christmas lights and then called it a night.

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and was able to spend time with those they love over the holidays. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives. And lucky for us, we get to celebrate with the Muszynski family all over again in a few days :)

Christmas With The Muszynski's

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again, WHERE DID DECEMBER GO?
This Christmas Season flew by, and I feel like there were hundreds of things I wanted to do, but never got the chance to.

The good news is, it was a wonderful month of December filled with Christmas music, Christmas decor, and Christmas movies...

Not to mention Christmas shopping and Christmas treats!

I just couldn't help myself. I needed to make some PROLO's... reindeer edition. For how to make them, see my post here.

When the first big snowfall of the year hit, I once again enlisted my dad to take some pictures of us for our Christmas card.

This was the final product:

I also didn't waste anytime decorating the dog. Since Lucy's Christmas sweater didn't fit her this year, I went for some reindeer antlers instead. She even left a Santa hat on her head long enough for me to snap a picture.

By the time Christmas actually arrived, we were exhausted. The three-four day leading up to Christmas are always full of chaos around here and this year was no exception at all. We traveled to see Adam's family on the 23rd to celebrate his dad's birthday, and on Christmas Eve there was a big gathering at his parent's house. Santa came and everything!

When we got home late on the 24th, Santa had already come to visit! Our living room was FULL of gifts to be opened the next morning. For as long as I remember, I have been woken up on Christmas morning to Christmas music blaring throughout the house and my sister running into all of our bedrooms telling us to wake up. This year was no exception and I wouldn't  have it any other way. It just wouldn't be Christmas morning without our 7:30am gift opening.

I hope everyone had the most wonderful of Christmases and was able to spend time with loved ones!

Celebrating One Year!

Well, I'm sure by now everyone is getting a bit bored with me talking about our anniversary! I promise this is the last post you will have to read...until next year anyways.

So how did we celebrate our one year of marriage you may ask? We dumped the dog at the grandparents and headed to Tawas for a wonderful three days of camping! But before that, we made a pit stop in Augres at my favorite winery (the only one I've ever been to I might add).

We arrived to our campsite shortly after 5:00 and managed to set up camp in only 45 minutes! We're becoming pros at this whole camping thing!

Once camp was set, we went to Bikini's, a fun outdoor bar and restaurant right on the beach. We spent the evening downtown and walking the pier. It was beautiful.

Friday morning, we decided to take a canoe trip down the Au Sable River since neither of us had canoed in years. We had a blast and practically had the whole river to ourselves!

After our canoe trip, we headed back to the campground, filled up our plastic mugs with adult beverages and went on the.longest.walk along the beach.

We made dinner over the fire, and watched the sunset on the beach. We even snuck wine glasses and a bottle of wine along with us. Rebels, I know.

There is absolutely nothing better then a Michigan sunset on the beach.

Saturday, our actual anniversary, we were reunited with our fur baby. Adam's parents took us out for a celebratory dinner, and we spent the rest of the evening repainting some furniture.

Sunday, our last day of
celebrating, we woke up early and took Lucy to the riverwalk in Bay City while we patiently waited to get our anniversary cake. We made dinner at home and used the china for the second time since the wedding. We finished off the night watching our wedding videos and eating delicious lemon cake!

It was the perfect extended weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and my last weekend of sanity. Grad school starts back up tomorrow, and I am in no way prepared for it!

Okay, now I promise, no more anniversary talk until next year!

Happy Monday!

One Year Anniversary!

It is crazy to believe that one short year ago, I was sitting in the church waiting to see my handsome groom, and anxiously awaiting the moment I became MRS. Adam Muszynski. I never could have imagined how incredible our wedding day turned out to be. It was a day full of love, laughs, and dancing and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

This past year has had it's extreme highs and a few depressing lows. Our relationship has been tested more times than I ever wish for anyone in their first year of marriage, but we have managed to survive it all. I truly believe now more than ever that we can make it through anything, and we have only come out of our first year that much stronger.

Adam, if you are reading this, I hope you realize that you mean the world to me. I wouldn't have been able to make it through the past year without you by my side. You are my rock, my best friend, and my shoulder to cry on. I am so lucky to be able to spend the rest of my life with you!

Here's to one year down, and a lifetime to go!
